As&nbsp;part&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Transdev&nbsp;Group,&nbsp;active&nbsp;in 19 countries&nbsp;across&nbsp;five&nbsp;continents,&nbsp;it&nbsp;is&nbsp;recognised&nbsp;as&nbsp;an&nbsp;international&nbsp;reference&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;mobility&nbsp;sector.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Safety is a core priority for Transdev. In addition to reducing waste, an effective solution should also simplify handling and transport&nbsp;cost&nbsp;otimization, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable operation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Problem&nbsp;3&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;Electrical&nbsp;resistance&nbsp;model<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"441\" height=\"132\" src=\"https:\/\/esgi2026.ubi.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-213\" style=\"width:300px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/esgi2026.ubi.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-2.png 441w, https:\/\/esgi2026.ubi.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-2-300x90.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 441px) 100vw, 441px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At COFICAB Guarda, an industrial site producing cable solutions for the automotive sector, the definition and adjustment of conductor compositions is a relevant engineering challenge with direct impact on cost optimization, process performance, and compliance with automotive industry standards.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company needs to define and adjust conductor compositions&nbsp;in order to&nbsp;meet cost targets, while ensuring full compliance with the rules and standards&nbsp;mainly linear&nbsp;resistance&nbsp;of the automotive industry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;challenge&nbsp;is to develop an algorithm based on empirical data related to conductor elongation across the different industrial processes.
